Pupil Premium
Since 2011, the Government has provided additional funds to schools called the Pupil Premium. The Pupil Premium is given to publicly funded schools to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and to close the gap between them and their peers.
We receive additional funds from the Government for those pupils who are in receipt of Free School Meals; in the care of the Local Authority or those from Service families. This funding is used to support them; enhance their educational experiences and reduce any gaps in their achievement when compared to the rest of the school population.
We are required to account for these funds very carefully and to publish a brief summary of how pupil premium funding has been used and its impact.
